SIMPLE PRINCIPLES FOR SUSTAINABLE FAITH AT HOME

Family Faith Handbook

A practical guide to using the Hub without turning faith into a checklist or making children and teens perform.

1. Start With Relationship

Family discipleship works best inside trust. Listen, apologise when necessary, celebrate growth and make room for questions.

2. Keep It Sustainable

A short repeatable rhythm is better than an ambitious plan that creates constant conflict.

3. Use Everyday Moments

Meals, journeys, chores and bedtime already provide natural opportunities for short conversations.

4. Read in Context

Use the weekly Bible reference, read enough context to understand the passage, and avoid making every story only a moral slogan.

5. Welcome Questions

Do not punish sincere questions. Study together and say when you need more time to answer well.

6. Do Not Force Disclosure

Children and teens may listen, write, draw or pass on a question. Family faith should not require public sharing of private experiences.

7. Let Adults Model It

Adults should model apology, prayer, device wisdom, service and respectful disagreement.

8. Connect Church and Home

Use the Sunday topic during the week so church teaching and home conversation reinforce one another.

9. Practise Faith

Pair discussion with action—kindness, service, forgiveness, gratitude, generosity and responsible choices.

10. Review Without Ranking

Progress tools should encourage consistency, not compare siblings or measure someone's spiritual worth.
